About the group

About TIFA Group

Four Welsh operating companies working across supported accommodation, property, staffing and software.

Origin

Why TIFA was established

TIFA was founded in 2023, beginning with TIFA Life and supported accommodation for care leavers and unaccompanied young people aged 16+. TIFA Property, TIFA Connect and TIFA Recruits were then developed to address the related property, records and staffing work.

The group

What each company does.

TIFA Property holds the residential base. It works directly with landlords across Wales to lease the homes that supported accommodation services need to operate at scale. Without the property, none of the rest is possible.

TIFA Life takes those homes and turns them into supported accommodation for 16+ care leavers and unaccompanied young people. It is the group's operating business: case management, safeguarding and the day-to-day work of running a placement.

TIFA Connect was built to record and manage the operational work behind supported accommodation. It is now a standalone platform for providers and partners.

TIFA Recruits exists because the workforce gap in supported accommodation is structural and getting wider. It connects support worker talent to the providers and Local Authorities that need them, including but not limited to TIFA Life.

Bringing the four companies together means operational experience can inform the property, staffing and software services offered across the group.

Governance

How the group is structured.

Each operating company has its own leadership and its own customers. TIFA Life is led by Hannah Rees as CEO. Bessie Johnson is Operations Lead and Designated Safeguarding Lead. Clare leads compliance coordination and operational follow-through, Ian leads resourcing, and founder Michael Border leads group strategy and commercial.

Group function is centralised through Michael Border and intentionally small: capital allocation, brand, shared standards, and group-level compliance. The group runs a quarterly leadership review and a defined safeguarding and compliance audit cycle.

TIFA CIC

Community interest company.

TIFA CIC is the group's community interest company. It focuses on training, employment pathways and social value initiatives connected to the supported accommodation sector. The CIC sits alongside the four operating companies rather than as a fifth commercial entity, anchoring the group's community and workforce-development work.
